Another College Visit Day in the books! High school students spent the day touring campuses to learn about college admissions, campus life and even sampled dining hall food. It's all part of Metro's goal of preparing students for college success!

Creativity in Imaginarium: Elementary students students complete their Engineering PBL where they worked through the design cycle to create a Cardboard Columbus. Students learned how design can determine the materials and methods needed to bring their ideas to life in the big city footprint.




Metro 9th graders are participating in the statewide OSLN Design Challenge, focused on improving aspects of electric transportation systems to move people or products more effectively. This week's kickoff introduced the stages of the Liberatory Design Cycle to get students started on their problem solving process.


The elementary Girls Who Code Club was visited by members of Metro's Tech Team, who shared their experience as women working in a tech field. Members also explored BlockJam, the coding app provided by Girls Who Code. One of the girls used the app to create a message for club advisor Mrs. Garin's birthday!



Elementary students work with Metrobots high school mentors in our First Lego League: Explore Student Club. Students are learning about archeology and the technology that can be understood about past civilizations at an archeological dig site. With creativity, building and coding, club members are geared up to solve this year’s challenge!




We're making waves in Metro Elementary’s Girls Who Code Club! Girls have been introduced to binary code, basic coding, and will explore AI and interview the women of Metro's Tech Department next week. Metro's coding sisterhood is growing strong!



Kindergarten is working on a citizenship unit which includes creating a citizen superhero persona - complete with cape and mask. Students will now put their superhero powers to good use by helping with tasks around the school!

The PAST Foundation hosts STEM Day for Metro Elementary with engaging hands-on activities. Second graders make constellations and 4th graders practice coding with Ozobots.




5th graders are learning about "Our Watery Planet," with today's activity focused on answering the question "how much salt is in the ocean?" Hands-on activities included creating their own tiny ocean in a baggie and recording observations.



We did it again! Metro Schools received a #1 ranking in Best Public K-12 Schools in Ohio on Niche! This honor reflects our commitment to student success and outstanding academic programs. Shoutout to the families and staff who make Metro a great place to learn and grow!

Dale Minyo, general manager of Ag Net Communications and broadcaster for Ohio Ag Net, visits the middle school agriscience class to talk to students about careers in agriculture and Ohio’s top commodities- soybeans and field corn.



Kindergarten students learn about the five senses and practice fine motor skills by creating Potato Heads.




Teachers join in the fun of Spirit Week with today's theme of dressing as a "Soccer Mom" or "BBQ Dad."

It's Game Day at Metro! Ms. Rice's 2nd grade students engage in a football-themed language arts activity to identify words with a given blend or digraph.
