Buckeye Space Launch Initiative

Mechatronics students worked with The Buckeye Space Launch Initiative (BLSI) team, a student-led organization at Ohio State that develops and builds high-power rockets. The goal was to design a payload, consisting of an experiment to be carried by the rocket at the Spaceport America Cup in New Mexico.

Students worked over four weeks using the design process to create their proposals, which were then evaluated by the BSLI team to determine which would be built.

BLSI recently announced their decision to build a payload that combines three students' ideas (Hayden Kernosky, Said Omar and Anthony Kovac), using a humidity sensor and temperature sensors to monitor various changes in the environment during the launch.
