Bee Bot

Metro Elementary students are joining the olympic excitement with hands-on projects that combine STEM, coding and winter sports.

From the Imaginarium to the classrooms, the Project Based Learning for February will feature a Robot Olympics. Students will use the design cycle to learn about Winter Olympic sports, from the origin of the sport to the global athletes competing this month representing their countries.

Grades K-2 will help the BeeBot robot figure skate, slalom ski and cross country ski his way to a gold medal. Third grade will zip around the track using the speedy Sphero bot as part of a four-person bobsled team. Fourth grade will code their way to gold with pair figure skating, dancing multiple bots across the paper rink. Fifth grade will play the Ozobot version of ice hockey, coding and strategically moving across the ice with 3D printed bot hockey gear.

Stay tuned for more Robot Olympic updates from Metro Elementary!
