Four Metro Middle School teachers were among educators across the state awarded STEM Classroom Grants from Battelle and the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN). Metro received grants for the following projects:
Mr. Westwood - Automation Activation: Hummingbird Robotics
Mrs. Reinhardt - Dream. Design. Do: Makerspace carts and tools
Mr. Keller-Ruoff - STEM Roots: Genetics & Biotechnology through corn (Microscopes, corn genetics and MarsFarm)
Mrs. Juracich - Cultivating STEM through Agriculture: MarsFarm, water distillery and micropittes
The four grants will provide $20,000 in funds that will directly impact student learning and classroom project work. Special thanks to the Metro staff who submitted proposals this year.
The OSLN STEM Classroom Grant Program launched in 2021 with funding from Battelle to foster the growth of the Ohio STEM Learning Network and quality STEM education in Ohio. This year, educators across the state were awarded a total of $900,000 in classroom grants.
