Metro Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! It is our pleasure to welcome you and your students to our Metro community.
I hope that the summer months provided rest, relaxation and a time to recharge. We are excited about all that this school year has in store!
Last year, we eagerly took on a mid-year move, continuing classes while completing construction and all the woes that come with transitioning into a new space. The Metro team did all of this with grace and gratitude and didn’t miss a beat on instructing our students.
The onset of this school year provides an opportunity for new beginnings. We are happy to welcome families and staff to Metro Elementary and are honored that you have chosen to be part of our new program. Already, our youngest Metro students are learning the steps of the design cycle, establishing daily routines and learning about the habits to successful learning. Our Kenny Road campus truly has transformed from a middle and high school to an elementary setting. The Metro alumni who have brought their own children, siblings or nieces and nephews to the school stand in awe not just with the transformation of the space, but also of the relationships and memories that were built here now being available to the next generation of learners.
Metro students never cease to amaze me! Whether it is their solutions to community problems, their performance in college coursework, or their ability to persist through challenges, they use the Metro Habits to accomplish whatever they set out to do.
Looking ahead, the 2025–2026 school year promises to be just as impactful. Together, we will continue to focus on STEM, academic excellence and real-world connected learning – all while ensuring that every student has opportunities to grow, explore, and thrive.
We are excited to welcome both returning and new families into our community. Thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement, and trust in our work. It is a privilege to partner with you in preparing students for college, career, and life.
Let’s make this another extraordinary year—together!
Regards,
Meka Pace, Superintendent
