VR goggles in Math Class

Metro received a $25,000 Community Action Grant last spring that was used to purchase Virtual Reality (VR) goggles, currently being used to enrich math coursework.

The potential of VR technology is limitless and has introduced a new era of interactive learning in education. Students can engage in hands-on activities with a variety of math applications, explore the microscopic intricacies of a cell, or traverse through diverse ecosystems, all from the comfort of their classrooms. Lessons come to life when VR goggles are paired with traditional teaching methods to provide a unique, immersive experience.

Teachers are already seeing positive results, as use of the goggles helps students better understand complex scientific and mathematical concepts. VR technology encourages active participation in a three-dimensional educational experience that sparks curiosity and fosters a genuine love of learning. In addition, VR goggles facilitate collaborative exercises that promote teamwork, which is tantamount to the Metro Habits.

Metro is deeply grateful to Meta for their generous grant, a testament to the strong partnerships that drive innovation in our academic programs. With Meta's support, Metro can continue to lead the way in STEM educational advancement, fostering a rich learning environment where the next generation of STEM professionals can thrive and excel.
