Withdrawing Students


If your child will be leaving Metro to attend school elsewhere at any time of the year, please follow the steps below to ensure a successful transfer of enrollment. 

To effectively withdraw your student from Metro:

  • Email Metro's Records Secretary, Betty Marshall ( marshall@themetroschool.org) with the student's name and the name of the new school where they will be enrolled. 
  • Mrs. Marshall will provide instructions regarding payment of any outstanding fees (if applicable) and the return of the assigned school-issued iPad/laptop.
  • Once you enroll your child at a new school, Metro will receive a "Request for Records" from that school. Records will be released once all Metro fees have been paid and school devices/chargers or other school property has been returned to us.  

School-Issued Devices

Withdrawing students will be required to return their assigned school device before records will be released to the new school.

  • If assigned a MacBook Air, the laptop and charger will need to be returned, or the appropriate cost paid if an item has been lost/stolen.  
    • MacBook Air = $1,000.00
    • MacBook Air Charger = $50.00
    • Charges will be assessed for damage to school devices depending on the nature of the damage.  

  • If assigned an iPad,  the iPad, charging adapter, USB cable, keyboard case, and keyboard USB cable will need to be returned, or the appropriate cost paid if an item has been lost/stolen.
    • iPad = $375.00
    • Charging adapter = $20.00
    • USB Cable = $20.00
    • Keyboard Case = $70.00
    • Keyboard USB Cable = $8.00
    • Charges will be assessed for damage to school devices depending on the nature of the damage.
