Metro Update: March 03,2014

Spring Semester Class Information
The following link provides a list of teachers and their TaskStream or website addresses for class information. We hope this will help you keep up to date on expectations and assignments. In addition, the list  includes a column with the club that each staff member will host this semester. If you have any questions, feel free to email the teacher sponsoring the club/activity.
Hot Lunch Wednesdays
Students will have the option to purchase a hot lunch each Wednesday for $3 as part of a student activity fundraiser. Lunches will alernate between hot dogs (sausage size and all beef) and pizza with drink and side and will be sold while they last. We will begin this week with hot dogs, chips and drinks.
In addition, this Friday will bring the return of pancake lunch with Chris Cakes! Bring $3 cash and enjoy hotcakes right off the grill, sausage links and drink.
Rap Battle Benefits Cancer Society
Representatives from the staff and student body will be challenging each other this Thursday in a rap battle (rescheduled from last term). The event will be from 2:00-3:00pm so students who want to attend should plan for later rides home to see the entire performance. Tickets are 50 cents (or $1 for front row); all proceeds benefit the Lukemia Lymphoma Society.
Participants Needed for OSU Study
The OSU College of Education & Human Ecology is conducting a study of factors that influence student success at Metro and we would like your student’s input. Please ask your child for the permission form they received and return page 4 with your signature. Students will be asked to give their responses to two surveys regarding their Metro experience.
Festival of Friends: Raffle Baskets Need Your Help
Plans are underway for the PTSO’s biggest fundraiser of the year – our annual Festival of Friends Gala. This year’s event will be April 12 and will include a live and silent auction, 50/50 raffle, food and entertainment. Advisory groups will be working on themed baskets for the raffle, so each student is asked to contribute toward his/her advisory’s basket. Please ask your child what theme has been chosen and what items you can donate to help. All proceeds from the Festival of Friends are used to fund student activities at Metro.
