Carlee Beatty

Carlee Beatty

English Teacher, Metro Institute of Technology (MIT)

Ms. Beatty enjoyed a long, but inevitable road to teaching English. It all began when she fell in love with reading at the age of 3. She didn’t stop reading until she graduated from OSU with a BA in English in 2010. At that point, she got a little tired of reading, and took a break to teach preschool for 8 years. In that time, she not only fell in love with education, but also realized that she didn’t need time off from reading so much as she loved helping others learn to love reading (including her own toddler). So, she went back to OSU and got her M.Ed in English Education, graduating in May 2018. The first thing she did was apply for a job with Metro schools, because she already knew enough about them to love their philosophy of education and STEM focus. Luckily for Ms. Beatty, it was a good fit on both sides, and she is very excited to be teaching the wonderful students at MIT.
