School Counselor, Metro Early College Middle School (MECMS)
Timothy (Tim) Latta is a graduate from Wright State University with a Bachelor degree in Psychology. Mr. Latta also holds a Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from Bowling Green State University. He worked in the mental health field with adolescents and families trying to cope with a variety of issues for four years. Upon realizing that there is immense value in prevention Mr. Latta sought employment within the education setting. He obtained employment for three years with Columbus City Schools until budget cuts caused him to find new employment. For the past eight years Mr. Latta worked as a School Counselor at Reynoldsburg High School. Mr. Latta believes that a great deal of the problematic issues that affecting youth and families can be prevented and addressed before they become destructive. Currently at Metro Mr. Latta teaches Advisory, a course that serves to assist students to grow though service, group community, academics and self awareness. When Mr. Latta is not at school he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, jogging, and trying new things.
