Principal, Metro Early College Middle School (MECMS)
Krista Miller is in her 8th year at Metro, where she serves as Metro's first Middle School Principal. During her tenure at Metro, Krista has taught Physics, Introduction to Engineering Design, Environmental Science and various math classes, as well as being the project manager for interdisciplinary design challenges and facilitator of an after-school STEM club. Krista’s educational practices were firmly rooted in her philosophy that all students should be held accountable to high standards and that all students can achieve these standards when given the opportunity to do so. Krista began her career teaching mathematics at Lima Senior High Progressive Academy in Lima City Schools. During her 3 years at LSH Progressive Academy, she served as a member of a staff-selected school leadership team and also designed and implemented a first-day ninth grade orientation. She was a recipient of the Lima Education Association's Teachers Touching Lives Award. Krista earned her degree in mathematics with an AYA teaching license from Bluffton University. Through the CORE Physics program at Wright State University, she earned her Physics/Physical Science teaching certificate. Krista has also participated in Mediation Training and Anti-Racism Training. She is currently attending The Ohio State University where she is pursuing a Master's in educational administration.
