Carol Oaks

Mrs. Carol Oaks attended Milligan College in Tennessee earning a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Arts. She worked for several years with at-risk youth in group homes and foster care. After earning her Masters of Teaching at Otterbein University, Carol taught in schools in the Columbus area. Along with teaching, Carol is a certified Ohio Resident Educator Mentor and Ohio State Assessor, helping new teachers. Loving all things technology, Carol trained with the first Ohio cohort of Code.org and enjoys incorporating technology and the design process within her English classrooms. Encouraging students to become productive citizens by learning both independence and interdependence, along with critical and compassionate thinking, describes Mrs. Oaks’ goals for her classroom. Outside of school, Carol spends time at her church singing and working with the youth programs. She enjoys reading, singing, computers, science fiction and spending time with her family.
