Anthony E. Alston

Mr. Alston is a career educator with more than ten years of experience as a high school principal.  He is a married father of four who loves kayak fishing, reading and enjoying the outdoors. His worldview was shaped as a young man who graduated from Berlin American High School in Berlin, Germany.  There he learned the importance of establishing and nurturing positive relationships with people from many different backgrounds.  He spent an additional year in Europe to experience different countries and finally went on to attend college in his home state of South Carolina.  He earned a dual honors B.A. degree, majoring in Professional Mathematics and Math Education. He also earned a Masters in Education Administration from the Ohio State University and is currently working on his doctorate.  Mr. Alston has taught both middle and high school math before moving on to become a high school administrator. He served two years as an assistant principal before being promoted to high school principal. With many years of experience as an administrator, and educator, Mr. Alston feels blessed to be working with with the amazing staff at MECHS.
