National College Fair April 5

Metro High School students are encouraged to attend the National College Fair on Saturday, April 5th from 1pm-4pm at the Columbus Convention Center. Over 100 colleges will be represented, along with staff who can answer questions about financial aid, essay writing and the college search process.

The fair is free, but students need to register in advance at www.gotomyncf.com (or www.gotomypvafair.com for those interested in visual or performing arts) to receive the full benefits of the event.

Registration gives every student a QR code that colleges will use to send additional information to those interested. Families must arrange transportation to and from the Convention Center if attending. See the flyer at the link below for more details:

Festival of Friends Invitation

You are invited to our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Festival of Friends Gala, April 12 beginning at 6pm. The gala is a fun evening of food, live and silent auctions and entertainment, all to raise money for student activities at Metro.

Families will receive a paper and email invitation – be sure to pass these along to friends and family who may be interested in attending.

In addition, you may help in the following ways:

  • The committee is looking for student musicians to provide background music during the silent auction (guitar, violin, keyboard, etc). To be considered, email Mrs. Burgett and include information on the instrument and style of music you play. (Individual musicians preferred; no bands or vocalists needed).
  • Each student is asked to contribute toward a basket for the auction. Advisories have selected themes, so check with your child for the items that are needed.
  • Volunteers are needed for the event. Visit the following link to sign up:
